My Journey: From Overwhelmed to Organized " I don't just understand the clutter-I understand the quiet struggle behind it"

After 16 years of marriage and having 3 amazing daughters I discovered something about myself, I was a hoarder. My husband had just left me and I wanted to sell my house. I was confronted with a lifetime of accumulated possessions not only mine but my daughters as well. I was a bit overwhelmed and totally alone. Over the next year I slowly went though my entire house and downsized by 75%. Though trial, error, and immense patience, I discovered what worked, what didn't, and how to declutter in a way that is productive rather than emotionally catastrophic.

I did not learn my methods from a textbook. I learned them by doing the hard, emotional work myself through a neurodivergent-affirming lens.

Traditional organizing methods often fail because they ignore how our unique brains process  information

As an individual with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and sensory processing disorder and as a mother raising neurodivergent daughters navigating bipolar disorder, dyslexia, and depression, I am intimately familiar with unique triggers, executive dysfunction, and sensory overstimulation that affect  daily life.

I know how to read the subtle shifts in body language, focus, and energy. I understand when a brain is reaching its sensory limit, and I know exactly how to pivot the environment to keep you feeling safe, grounded, and respected.
